1、Team
It has joint objectives and accountability and may be set up by the organisation under the supervision of a leader.
Two important features of the team":
Complementary skills: members usually bring in many skills which could be complementary to each other.
Mutually accountability:each member is responsible for the task and accountable to other member
2、Different types of team
Multi-discipline teams : bring together individuals with different skills and specialization so that the collective expertise is pooled together and exchanged.
Multi-skills teams : brings together a number of individuals who can perform any of the group tasks.
Self-managed teams : most highly-developed form of team working, members act autonomously and collectively as a team and collaboratively decide all the major issues.
Virtual teams : developed form of team is the result of advancement in information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
3、Theories related to team
Belbin' s team roles theory : the roles played by the team members.
Plant; Resource investigator; Co-ordinator (chairman); Shaper ; Monitor-evaluator;Teamworker ; Implementer(company worker); Completer-finisher ; Specialist.
Tuckman' s Development of the team theory:
Stage 1 Forming;
Stage 2 Storming;
Stage 3 Norming;
Stage 4 Performing;
Stage 5 Dorming;
Stage 6 Mourning (Break up) or Adjourning (Disconnection).
