4.1  classifications of equity securities:

    a.common shares(voting), callable common shares, putable common shares

    b. preference shares(priority in dividends and clearing)

   I.   cumulative preference shares(某一年不分了可以補(bǔ)回)

   II. participating preference shares(業(yè)績(jī)好可以拿更多分紅)

   III.convertible preference shares(可以將優(yōu)先股轉(zhuǎn)換為普通股)

4.2  non-domestic equity securities:

    a.direct investing: high risk

    b.global registered shares: GRS, 同一公司多地ipo

    c. DR

   I. 分類：sponsored（由公司發(fā)起，外國(guó)有投票權(quán)）；unsponsored (由銀行發(fā)起，投票權(quán)被公司保留)

   II. ADR(美國(guó))， DGR（歐洲，國(guó)際）, IDR（國(guó)際）(所有都以美元計(jì)價(jià)，僅有發(fā)行地的區(qū)別)

   III.Level I, II, III(liquidity逐漸增加， III表示公開發(fā)行)

   IV. 存在arbitrage opportunity，比較dr和本國(guó)price，看價(jià)差

    d.Basket of listed depository receipts(BLDR): ETF

4.3    risk and return of equity:

    a.return: capital gain; dividends; currency

b.risk: preferred shares
